The state official during the six-year term of Mario López Valdez lamented that many efforts have been made to change the warlike image of Sinaloa and have not been achieved.

Culiacan, Sinaloa. – It is not fair that Sinaloa continues to be on the travel alert by the United States government so that its compatriots do not visit it when work has been done for 10 years to reduce serious crimes such as homicides, said Francisco Córdova Celaya, former secretary of State Public Security.

He admitted that Sinaloa is still in the highest rank of crimes at the level of some African countries, however, if the image of Sinaloans as violent and dedicated to illicit activities can be reversed, working hand in hand with civil society and government because the Americans want their people to come and have no problem and have help in any incident.

“We think that this is not fair, we have been working hand in hand with civil society for a decade with the government and crimes have dropped to a very significant level, we are at levels of 20 years ago and that has to be rewarded,” he said.

The former Secretary of State Public Security during the six-year term of Mario López Valdez lamented that many efforts have been made to change the war image of Sinaloa and it has not been achieved, but now it will be resumed so that there is positive talk and not about drug traffickers.

He recalled that when he was police chief, 15 years ago, there were more than 2,200 murders a year and those figures have dropped to less than half in the entity, and this government has done its thing and they are working, so we have to give make these achievements known to the United States government.
