Mazatlan, Sinaloa.-This Saturday the Ministry of Health confirmed the first positive case of monkeypox in Mazatlan, and the second in the state.

This is a patient who at the beginning of the month manifested the symptoms of the disease, for which Sanitary Jurisdiction number 5 acted in accordance with the health protocol, isolating the patient.

Through a statement, the state agency announced that the patient, who presented symptoms earlier this month of the disease known as monkeypox or monkeypox, tested positive for this disease and was confirmed this Saturday.

The patient is stable and will remain in isolation at home for 21 days, and will also be receiving treatment and medical follow-up.

The rash is one of the symptoms of this disease, it can be painful or itchy.

Just on Friday, the Mayor’s Office of the Mazatlán City Council reported that the sanitary protocols in the city were kept active with a preventive approach, since until that day there had been no confirmed case and that the measures were similar to those applied against Covid-19.

Now that the first positive has been confirmed, the Health Committee will probably have to determine the specifications that could be applied officially in establishments where articles or clothing are sold, mainly.
