Actor Neal McDonough will film a movie in Mazatlan

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Given the beautification, growth, and positioning that Mazatlán has achieved in recent years thanks to the impulse of the Municipal Government, Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres seeks to position the city as an ideal destination for the attraction of cinematographic filming and television.

If the port of Mazatlan lacked something else to exploit its great potential, it was to bring its culture, gastronomy and emblematic places to the big screen, and let all of Hollywood know about it.

Two months ago, producer Elie Samaha visited Mazatlán and revealed that he fell in love with every corner of the port, so since then he has shown his interest in filming in the municipality.

Now he came with the actor Neal McDonough, recognized for his work on the small and big screens, such as in the series Band of Brothers and What if… Or movies like Captain America and Resident Evil.

At a press conference and before the visit of great actors, singers, producers and tourist ambassadors, Benitez Torres assured that Mazatlán has everything to become the ideal place to make film and television productions, which would generate a very significant economic spill and would cause greater interest to domestic and foreign tourists to visit it.

The actor announced that the film to be recorded is inspired by the boxer Gilberto “El Zurdo” Ramírez.

«Mr. Elie, with whom he teams up on the subject of film production, that the idea was born two months ago where they had two situations; one where they were celebrating a fight where he won. El Zurdo, in one of the very famous restaurants, and adding that they share a friendship with Mr. Tempo, this team has come together”, highlighted the actor.

American actor Neal McDonough, along with his wife Ruve McDonough; film producer Elie Samaha; singer-songwriter, actor, and film producer Piolo Pascual; actor Emil Anthony Po; and businessman Jorge Cueva Mr. Tempo visited Mazatlan in this synergy of seeking film opportunities.

The artists were fascinated by the cultural, tourist, gastronomic, and commercial beauty of the Pearl of the Pacific.

They showed off the hospitality of the Mazatlecos, the human warmth, and all the facilities provided to open the doors of the city and turn it into a potential location.

Through the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art directed by José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, visitors were offered a great artistic show in the majestic Ángela Peralta Theater, as well as a tour of emblematic places such as the Plazuela Machado, the Observatory, Paseo Olas Altas and Liverpool Alley.
