The first LGBT+ diversity march is celebrated in Navolato

Navolato, Sinaloa. – With great participation, the first LGBT+ diversity march was held in the municipality, with more than 400 people led by Mayor Margoth Urrea who said “we are inclusive and respect the identity of people, as well as the value of being man and his well-being.

For this reason, the members of collectivism of diversity awarded her the band as godmother for being the first mayor to hold an event like this in the municipality, they also crowned  Senllase Sánchez Salazar, as queen of this celebration.

This march was also attended by the deputy Almendra Negrete, president of the commission for gender equality and family; the president of the DIF System Uriel Barraza Urrea and his team, as well as councilors, administration officials, and people from Navolato and Culiacán who joined.

Some of the slogans that echoed during the LGBT+ Pride March this Saturday express:

“It is not only a celebration. We fight, we resist, we exist and we are resistance”

 “The streets are ours! For a diversity free of hate, violence and machismo!”

On June 28, the International LGBT+ Pride Day was celebrated, which represents lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer people, and more categories of sexual diversity.

It was a day to claim their human rights and since then various marches and activities have been held as part of an agenda to make the community visible.
