The head of the Sedectur announced that they are working with airlines and the Mixed Fund of Mexico City to create a route for tourism from Spain and Colombia.
Mazatlán, Sin.- Mazatlán is preparing to have the best summer in its history, where an increase of up to 20% in the economic benefit is expected, compared to the same period of the previous year.
Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fishing of Mazatlan, commented that a similar number, in improvement of economic benefits, is the one that was achieved during the periods of Carnival, Holy Week and Motorcycle Week, for which he trusted in which it is maintained during the summer vacation period.
Velarde Cárdenas highlighted the promotional actions that have been carried out, not only from the tourism point of view, but also from the investment point of view.
In this sense, he pointed out the agreement signed with the Mixed Fund for Tourism Promotion of Mexico City, with whom a plan is already being developed to promote tourism jointly, for European and Colombian tourism, which already visits CDMX, creating routes that contemplate four days in that city and the weekend in Mazatlan.
“A meeting with Aeroméxico is already being scheduled, to make the pertinent air links, since it is very difficult to talk about attracting international tourism if there is no guaranteed connectivity and a comprehensive plan such as the one that is already being worked on.”
In 2021, Mazatlan had an economic spill of more than one thousand 800 million pesos during the summer and for this 2022 it is expected to capture up to 2 thousand 800 million pesos.
TRAVEL TO SPAIN
From October 10 to 16, Hispanic Week will take place in Madrid, where Mazatlán is the special guest.
In addition to promoting tourism, Velarde Cárdenas said that there is an investment promotion agenda, and taking advantage of the fact that the Mexican ambassador to Spain is a Mazatlan, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, will surely help to achieve a very complete work agenda.
He also announced that they will be accompanied by the Banda El Recodo, who goes without charging fees and would have three presentations; that of Casa México, the parade and one more that is intended to be in a public square in Madrid.
