The growth of the destination does not stop and a clear example is that two new five-star hotels are coming to the city, reported Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Despite the fact that Sinaloa, and therefore, Mazatlán are experiencing the fifth wave of COVID infections, the expectations for summer are encouraging in the tourist destination and more so because the hotel sector reports very good levels in the reservation books for the month of July and August, highlighted Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries in the Municipality -Sedectur- specified that due to the rebound in active cases of the SARS-COV-2 virus, health security in Mazatlan was reinforced to reduce the risks of contagion and it is trusted that this wave does not have as much impact as the previous ones because the citizens have come to get vaccinated against COVID.

“Although it is true that the cases have increased markedly, but the cases in hospitals of serious concern do not happen like other waves and/or with other strains, it is important that we take precautions because, without a doubt, a very important summer season is coming where Mazatlan is already It is reserved in its entirety, the July and August season, ”he said.

The head of the Sedectur commented that according to information and statistics from the Health sector, every five or six months there is an outbreak of COVID, and in view of this, it is of the utmost importance to take care of the economy and the health of citizens.

The local official even announced that it is very likely that two large hotel chains: one from California and another national, will come to install their five-star lodging centers in the destination and that -he said- only speaks of security, trust and growth of Mazatlan.

“I have a meeting with two investors who come with new international hotel brands, and after the meeting, if you authorize me, I could tell you a little more about the brand, but they are two brands, one from California and the other national that want to invest in 5-star hotels, with great development for Mazatlan and all this has been part of this same growth that gives confidence to invest in the port”, he highlighted.

Velarde Cárdenas asserted that, despite all the economic impact that has occurred worldwide due to COVID and the war between Russia and Ukraine, Mazatlán has managed to get ahead, grow and continue as an attractive tourist destination for investors and businessmen.
