MAZATLAN. – This weekend there will be an invasion of skates in the city, because the second edition of the “Mazatlan Roller Fest 2022” will be held, which will take place in the Skate Park of Kilometer Zero and Parque Lineal, on Libramiento II avenue.
At a press conference, the director of Tourism Development, Martín Ochoa López, together with the organizers of that event, Nancy Medrano Rendón and Ángela Velarde, announced all the details prior to the great event.
The sports fair that will invade the city with three days of great activity on May 27, 28, and 29 awaits the arrival of 700 competitors, from the children’s category, from 5 to 12 years; junior, from 13 to 18 years old, and master’s, from 19 onwards.
Medrano Rendón commented that there are three days of a lot of activity with two different venues, and great events are expected, since the modalities vary from; Slalom, Slides, High Jump, Long Jump and Roller Cross.
“During this weekend participants are expected from different parts of the country from Nuevo León, Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Durango, State of Mexico, among other points, where a pleasant economic benefit is expected,” he said.
The event will have two venues, on Friday at Kilometer Zero there will be skating Slides, High Jump, Long Jump and Slalom. While on Saturday and Sunday the Roller Cross will take place in the Linear Park.

On Friday, there will be a ride on skates along the Malecón, where the bike path will be used, at 7:00 p.m., from Valentinos to the Monument to Life.
Slalom: It is an inline skating modality that consists of performing different tricks in rows of small cones, placed at different distances that normally vary between 50cm, 80cm and 120cm.
High Jump: This test has as its main objective to be able to exceed a horizontal bar, called a bar, which is placed at a certain height between two vertical supports separated by about 4 meters, the competitor begins his participation in the height that is estimated chance and you have three attempts to beat it.
Length: Skating jumps are free where the skater leaves the ground and rotates in the air around its vertical axis giving an adequate height and speed, and consequently the length, are the characteristics that determine the quality and value of the jump.
Roller Cross: It is a new test that allows skaters to circumvent the ramps and traps that are placed as obstacles that are placed on the site.
Sildes: This modality tries to start with the practice on a flat and guiding ground, when making a turn you must support the external tires while the four wheels are located on the ground.
