Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The State Government through the Ministry of Public Works will invest this year more than 5 billion pesos in different social infrastructure works, the most emblematic being the irrigation district of the Picachos dam for 2 thousand 100 million pesos, reported the head of the agency José Luis Zavala Cabanillas.
Interviewed during the meeting he held with the partners of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry, Culiacán delegation, he said that Governor Rubén Rocha Moya ‘s indication is to give priority to the work with a social sense, that is, drinking water, sanitary drainage and electrification and paving.
“I estimate an investment in Sinaloa this year in public works at 5 billion pesos, between the Federal Government and the State Government, added to the billion we have in Branch 33, we want the builders to have a job for all,” he promised.
The official promised that all the works will be tendered to favor local businessmen, in addition to the fact that the law only allows direct awarding of up to one million 600 thousand pesos and most, if not all, exceed that amount.
He commented that 800 million pesos are contemplated in these first six months, of which 700 by tender, with the warning made by the president that no work will begin that does not have financial support to pay the builder and nothing on credit.
In the interview, José Luis Zavala referred to the Bacurimí drain, in the city of Culiacán, and announced that they have already met with authorities from the National Water Commission to register the project with the Congress of the Union so that they assign a budget next year, for an amount of around 300 million pesos, for the time being, the cleaning will be carried out by the state at a cost of 15 million pesos.
