‘Zurdo’ Ramírez will have a victory parade along the coastal promenade of Mazatlán today

After his victory against the German Dominic Boesel, he will return to the land where he was born

MAZATLAN. – On the coastal promenade, and with the sunset hiding behind the three islands, Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez will parade before all Mazatlecos this Monday from 6:00 p.m.  

This, after his victory against the German Dominic Boesel in the fourth round by technical knockout in the main event of the evening played at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. 

The tour will start in Valentinos and will go along Avenida Del Mar towards Paseo Claussen and Olas Altas, ending at the coat of arms of Mazatlán.  

With this victory, Ramírez will have the opportunity to face Dmitry Bivol and will be able to avenge the defeat that the Russian imposed on his compatriot Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez. 

Ramírez remains undefeated with a record of (44-0, 30 KOs), while Dominic Boesel moved to (32-3, 12 KOs). 

The “Lefty” El Zurdo was born in Mazatlan, he is 30 years old. He has held the WBO Super Middleweight title since 2016 and is the first boxer from Mexico to win a major world title in that weight class.  

As of September 2017, Ramírez is ranked the best active Super Middleweight in the world by BoxRec and second by The Ring magazine and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. In 2019 he debuted in the Light Heavyweight category.
