The hamburger will be donated to the ‘Children with a mission’ association, in addition, pantries will be delivered to low-income families

MAZATLAN. – Yes, the gastronomy of Mazatlan is at another level and for the second consecutive year, restaurateurs come together to endorse the title of the largest hamburger in the country and continue with its record delivered in 2021.

It will be held within the framework of the International Hamburger Day and for this, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, undersecretary of Promotion and Tourist Operation, mentioned that if something characterizes Sinaloa and especially Mazatlán, it is that it is always innovating and not to mention gastronomic.

“This is something that helps us promote Mazatlan because it is something very important for Mazatlan, which is carnival, sun and beach, rural tourism, everything we have to offer and obviously gastronomy,” he commented.

In 2021, the organizers managed to break the record before a certified notary that consisted of a 156-kilo hamburger and a size of 1.5 meters in diameter, seeking to surpass it for this year.

The general director of Soviet Burger and organizer of the event, José Luciano Ibarra Cambre, explained that it will take place within the framework of the 2022 International Hamburger Festival that will take place on June 5 at the Pacific Park Food Truck.

It should be noted that what makes this record different from others is that beyond the title, what is generated in sales within the festival, a part will be donated to the “children with a mission” association, which will provide support with pantries to families of scarce city resources.

The festival will start at 5:00 p.m. and there will be music, a family atmosphere, a show for children, hamburger and beer contests, and an exhibition of the hamburger-making process.

In the last edition, there were also contests to eat more food in a given time.
