The president of Canacintra announced that the first Mexican unmanned aircraft will be manufactured in Mazatlan
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The development of the port of Mazatlán continues and this has attracted companies interested in investing in the Aerospace Park, where the first phase is practically sold.
Helena Larsen Ayala, president of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry, Mazatlán delegation, stated that the progress of the project is in the second stage, which consists of the installation of the pipes, and that it will be at the end of this year when the infrastructure of the place will be seen.
“Right now, if you look around you can see that all the pipes are being installed, that tells us that everything that is drainage is being installed, then the gas and then everything that has to do with communications technology, fiber optics, because this is a totally modern park,” he said.
Larsen Ayala commented that one of the companies that has invested will build the first plane entirely manufactured in Mexico, which will not require a pilot.
He explained that in the project, which is located 9 kilometers north of Mazatlan, the company will manufacture planes that will fumigate, put out fires, send merchandise, all without a crew or pilot.
He added that there is no exact number of companies interested in continuing to invest, since it is handled confidentially, however, it is known that they are national and foreign.
THE PROJECT
The Mazatlan Aerospace Park will have an investment of 330 million dollars and will be made up of around 80 companies, with a total of 8,000 direct jobs, which added to the indirect ones will reach 25,000. The first stage added an approximate investment of 120 million dollars.
The Aerospace Park will have a 3-kilometer runway, a business class hotel, a shopping mall to serve international companies, a training center for young people, a bus station, and a corporate center.
