Los Mochis Country Club Annual Golf Tournament successfully concludes and is won by Juan Montiel

The 2022 edition of this contest brought together almost 200 players and ended this Sunday.

Los Mochis, Sin.- With a colorful award ceremony on the night of this Sunday, May 8, the successful Annual Golf Tournament of the Los Mochis Country Club concluded with its 2022 edition.

The contest in the Championship category was won by Juan Carlos Montiel from Mochita with 138 strokes. Rafael Lizárraga from Mazatlan finished in second place and Roberto Eng Grijalva, also from Ahome, finished in third place. 

During the closing ceremony of the event that brought together almost 200 players from Mexico and some from the United States, the president of the Los Mochis Country Club, Víctor Romo, addressed a message to the participants. 

“Many thanks to the sponsors, this event was made possible also thanks to you, and I want to pay special attention to Mike (Eng Grijalva commissioner of golf) and all the people who were supporting us, I hope they were all very happy, my respects, We broke a record, we had never had so much participation, the last time there were 120, now there are 190 players, I hope they come next year, we are waiting for them here,” he said.

The Ladies category was the first to be awarded, which was won by Lorelei García, followed by Lulú de Higuera and Cinthia Zepeda.

For the men in category A, the first 3 places went to Jesús González de Mazatlán, Gilberto Vega and César Castañeda.

Jesús Alberto Rubio from Los Mochis took category B; in second place was Abel Aguirre from Mazatlán and in third place Isaac Félix, also from Ahome. 

In category C, the first three places were shared between Guadalupe Varela, Rosendo Bañuelos and Humberto Angulo Huerta.

Category D was won by Isidro Romero Alcántara from Querétaro; the second position was occupied by José Antonio Ruiz and the third step was for Aldo Gutiérrez. 

It should be noted that the tournament was played from Thursday to Sunday, being last Friday when the golfer Velia Beltrán de Gómez, achieved a Hole in One in Hole 2, taking a 2022 car.

The purse in prizes of this contest, was almost 6 million pesos.
