The Autonomous University of Sinaloa celebrates its 149th anniversary

Within the framework of the event, a floral offering was offered to Eustaquio Buelna Pérez at a monument located in the Central Building of the UAS

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) celebrates this day 149 years after having been founded in the port of Mazatlán by Mr. Eustaquio Buelna Pérez and during the ceremony held to commemorate this date, the rector Jesús Madueña Molina paid tribute its founder with a flower arrangement.

“In commemoration of the Battle of Puebla in 1862, Buelna chose May 5, 1873, to inaugurate the Liceo Rosales, whose name was placed in honor of another great defender of the Republic and of Culiacán, such as General Antonio Rosales, That is why today we have gathered here to pay tribute to our founding father and celebrate together the birth of this great Institution”he stressed.

In the central building of the UAS, this Thursday, an event was held in which the founder of the highest house of studies was recognized with an offering, for starting the educational center with only 16 students enrolled.

The rector of the University highlighted that currently the Rosalina house houses more than 170 thousand students and with this, it manages to serve one hundred percent of the applicants, either from the upper-middle level, or higher.
