In collaboration with maxillofacial surgeons from UNAM, more than 100 patients will be treated
Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – The Government of Mazatlan, headed by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, through DIF Mazatlán, chaired by Gabriela Peña Chico, announced this morning the annual Ocular Prosthesis Campaign, which will take place from April 27 to May 1, in collaboration with maxillofacial specialists from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
Gabriela Peña Chico, president of the Municipal DIF, in a meeting with the doctors in charge of the campaign; Dr. Luis Antonio Rentería, Dr. Axel Alfonso Sandoval, and Dr. Carolina Flores Monroy reported that more than 100 patients will benefit.
“With this campaign around 100 people will benefit, it is worth mentioning that this support is totally free, and without a doubt it increases self-esteem, social life and in general improves the quality of life of patients. We will have the support of maxillofacial doctors from UNAM whom I thank for their trust and their approach to DIF Mazatlán, it is a pleasure to collaborate in a campaign that is so necessary and of great benefit to this sector of the population”, commented the president of DIF Municipal.
The medical evaluations will be carried out at Pacific University Mx, located at Av. Insurgentes 2006, Villas del Estero, on April 27 and 28, to subsequently deliver each of the pieces that will be made by hand by specialist doctors, adapting the prosthesis to the shape and color of the patient’s eyes.
