Lifeguards rescue two 13-year-old girls and an adult today in Mazatlan

Bathers were swept away by rip currents, and thanks to the elements’ quick response, no tragedy occurred.

Mazatlán, Sin.- Elements of the Municipal Police Aquatic Rescue Squad managed to rescue three bathers in two different events on the beaches of Mazatlán, during the afternoon of this Thursday.

The first rescue was recorded around 2:20 p.m. in front of the Torres Mazatlán Hotel, where a return current was dragging two bathers out to sea.

Clarisa “N” and Zoé “N”, both 13 years old, originally from Culiacán, only showed fatigue when they were handed over to their relatives. 

An hour later, also in the Golden Zone, where two municipal elements and the R1 jet ski rescued Adolfo “N”, 58 years old, originally from Durango, who was also being dragged out to sea by a return current. 

Municipal agents urge citizens to go to the beach, to locate the lifeguard and check the sea conditions.
