Three modules for complaints against public transport will be installed where excessive charges, speeding, carrying more passengers than allowed, and carrying music above 68 decibels in areas and times not allowed can be reported.
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Mario Rafael González, delegate of Roads and Transport in Mazatlán, reported that during the Easter holiday period, three modules for complaints against public transport will be installed.
Said modules will be installed in the Golden Zone, in front of the Aquarium, and in Olas Altas; The complaints received may be due to excessive charges, driving at high speed, going off the road, or carrying more passengers than they should.
He added that 14 inspectors will be working, distributed in four units in 12-hour shifts; from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
To make a complaint, the user will have to provide the license plate number and unit number.
The delegate pointed out that complaints about public transport have decreased by up to 80%, before 15 to 20 daily complaints were received, currently from one to three daily.
For her part, the director of Ecology, Miriam Isarai Rodríguez Paniagua, stressed that together with Roads and Transportation, Municipal Transit and Public Safety, they will be working on the anti-noise operation, giving visitors and drivers of the units brochures where it is specified that there are certain times and places to circulate with loud music.
“We are doing the verification, we have been working on the noise operation for months, we are going to be delivering, both to citizens, visitors, aurigas, pulmonias passangers, and our visitors’ cars, the new modality in which tourists who seek to rest in our port also come, so that they are informed that in residential areas, hospitals, sanatoriums, offices, they will not be able to circulate with music above 68 decibels after 10:00 at night,” he stressed.
Article 97 of the Environmental and Climate Change Regulations, states that motor vehicles that are used for public transport may only use equipment, devices, or sound devices with a volume that may not exceed 68 decibels, this type of units may only use their equipment, devices or sound devices from 11:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night and they will have to silence them when passing through schools, sanatoriums, clinics, hospitals, public offices, and residential areas.
Fines in public transport can range from two thousand to 10 thousand pesos.
