The above was announced by the Coordinator of Civil Protection, Eloy Ruíz Gastélum, during the presentation of the Operations Plan for Holy Week Mazatlan 2022, which will begin on Tuesday, April 12 and will have the support of 1,127 elements from different corporations of security and government agencies .

In a press conference offered in the Town Hall, the Secretary of the City Council, Edgar Augusto González Zatarain, on behalf of Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, specified that the challenge for Mazatlán and for the Municipal Administration is greater, because the city grows every day in tourist capacity and a balance of security must be found throughout the port, both in the tourist area and in the commercial and residential areas.

Ruiz Gastélum assured that all the elements and institutions will redouble their efforts, as well as areas of the three levels that participate in the operation, which will have 121 vehicles, 27 ambulances, 16 fire trucks, 2 cranes, 3 rescue units and 1 helicopter to offer greater coverage in the inspection and rescue routes in case of an emergency in the area of ​​beaches, rivers and balnarios in the municipality.

Drones will also be used to tour the bay to carry out surveillance, security and dissemination of a health message, while the current situation of 30 sections of the beach will be reported at the Semáforo Playa.

As far as bathers can enjoy the beaches during the vacation period from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., for their safety they can only stay on the sand until 10:00 p.m., after which they must go up to the boardwalk. During this time there will be lifeguards.
