Culiacán, Sinaloa.- As of this Friday, the Culiacán International Airport added one more flight to its daily operations with the direct route Culiacán-Cancún with three departures a week, informed the head of the Ministry of Tourism in Sinaloa, María del Rosario TorresNoriega.

This new service will be offered by the company Volaris on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, leaving Cancun, Quinta Roo, at 12:58 p.m. and arriving in Culiacán at 3:15 p.m., and later returning from Culiacán at 4 p.m. in the afternoon to arrive in Cancun at 7:00 p.m., with a RT price of 3 thousand pesos. 

The official went to the air terminal to witness the baptism of the plane and to receive and in turn say goodbye to the passengers of this inaugural flight, who now will not have to make a stopover in Mexico City to continue their trip to this tourist destination. . 

He explained that this will favor the connectivity that Sinaloans will have, and in particular the inhabitants of Culiacán, to travel to the beaches of Cancun, but at the same time, promote among tourists from that place to visit Mazatlán and other municipalities, especially, convince European tourism.  

“But above all, what interests us is what we can offer, because tourists who come to Cancun could be an area of ​​opportunity with the European market, they always come looking for more stays and sometimes they look for other beaches, so we as Sinaloa Well, we could have that connectivity with the Europeans,” he said. 

Torres Noriega expressed that Sinaloa has much to offer foreign visitors with wonderful beaches and mountain destinations, in addition, the city of Los Mochis is the gateway to travel to the Copper Canyon in the state of Chihuahua, to achieve all this will be promoted in Cancun. 

The first flight did not arrive as full, but the one from Culiacán left with 75 percent occupancy of an aircraft that has 180 seats available.

The Secretary of Tourism, María del Rosario Torres, trusted that during the Easter holidays this new connectivity will have a greater preference for both cities.
