Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Mazatlán Aquarium continues to be the favorite attraction of tourists who arrive at the port, said biologist Pablo Gerardo Rojas Zepeda, director of the aquatic enclosure, so much so that so far in 2022 it has exceeded up to 15 % the influx of visitors compared to 2021.
He said that the month of February registered an income of 42 thousand visitors and it is expected that March will close much better.
“March started even better than last year, we hope to close with the same numbers, right now we are preparing to receive Holy Week and all the visitors that arrive,” he said.
He added that in this vacation period is when there is a massive arrival of visitors to the aquatic area: last year there were around 50 thousand users, this year it is expected to exceed the figure.
“We hope to reach 55 thousand and normally we combine the results of Holy Week with Easter week, which are the 15 days that we consider in the main capacity,” he added.
In a comparison, he said that 95% of visitors are nationals against 5% foreigners, this in high season, in low season foreigners barely reach 2%.
PROMOTIONS
The municipal official revealed that box office promotions will continue to be valid; 50% discount for seniors, exemption from payment for people with any disability and 15% for locals.
