Entrepreneurs in the tourism industry in the port recognize that health protocols need to be strengthened to avoid surprises in the face of this upcoming holiday period.

Mazatlan, Sin.- The Easter holiday period will bring a greater tourist influx to Mazatlan, which could place it for the third consecutive year as a three-time champion in terms of hotel reservations, more so because in recent months the COVID-19 tends to decrease, said businessmen in the industry.

Guillermo Romero Rodríguez, general secretary of the Concanaco, indicated that Mazatlan continues to be one of the most interesting tourist destinations, thanks to the modernization and the offer it has for the thousands of visitors.

“And right now, well, weekends are also very good, we have a large market; many people continue to come from the northern economic corridor, which is Durango, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Nuevo León, we have a lot of tourism from Chihuahua, the part of Ciudad Juárez, from Chihuahua, and from the city of Parral, Chihuahua, we have a large market Sinaloense, Sinaloenses from the center and north visit us constantly, and all flights from Mexico City”.

Meanwhile, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Tres Islas Hotels Association in Mazatlan, pointed out that the demand for reservations could reach 80 percent, since in recent weekends they have recorded a greater presence.

“We have 62, 64 percent, in numbers it is going well, and right now these last two weekends, including this one that have been bridges, we are at levels practically between 78, 80 percent, and well, we do not rule out that at Easter we could even being at 82, 84 percent depends on many circumstances.”

Both interviewed separately trusted that this next vacation period will be flattering, but the important thing is that the health protocols do not let their guard down in any of the centers or entertainment points, since COVID19 still exists.
