Sinaloa health secretary warns its not the time to remove facemask mandate

At this time, as Secretary of Health, I consider that it is not convenient to stop using the face mask and to make a decision to the contrary, the opinion of local and national experts would have to be requested, said Dr. Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda.

Interviewed after a visit to the Naval Specialties Hospital, the former UAS rector added that what “abounds does not hurt in anticipation, especially in times of a health emergency and the National Health Council has not withdrawn the emergency to this day”.

He stressed that “we must be cautious because there are outbreaks in other parts of the world, such as in China, where after a year there were no deaths and a few days ago two people died of Covid.”

We must not forget that Mexico already has more than 320,000 deaths and Mazatlan and around 9,700 deaths in Sinaloa. “Unfortunately those outbreaks sooner or later arrive in Sinaloa and Mexico; then we must be careful, ”emphasized the state official.
