The merchants and street vendors made their ‘August’ during the days of Carnival, and they are still waiting for a good run

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- With the incredible number of tourists and hotel occupancy that was observed during the five days of Carnival in Mazatlán, beach vendors claim to have obtained good sales due to the influx of people on the beaches and the boardwalk.

“There were a lot of people, thank God, and if it went very well for several of us, the national tourist buys many souvenirs, t-shirts, hats and more with the Carnival because they want to bring their ‘Mazatlán’ t-shirt, so generally on these dates yes things are going well for us, and people have continued to arrive,” assured Pedro, a merchant.

It is above all in the Golden Zone and the beginning of the Malecón, the areas where most of the tourism is concentrated, so the vendors visualize their route over these areas where there are greater possibilities of getting a good sale.

“When there are a lot of people on the beach, they are generally looking for everything, first of all, renting an umbrella and chairs, then the snacks, fruit, ceviche, chips, beer, then it is about collaborating among all the vendors and we all it’s going well because there are customers for everyone” mentioned Darío, merchant.

At the moment they are waiting for Holy Week “semana santa”, which is the next high season for Mazatlan, however, they claimed to still have a good influx of tourism during the month of March.
