Mazatlan hotels estimate 70% occupancy for the long weekend holiday

This weekend the lodging establishments reached levels of 70%, it could be maintained during the next three weekends.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- For the long weekend of March 21, the Mazatlán hotel industry estimates a rebound in occupancy of 70%, however, when Sinaloa reaches green again at the epidemiological traffic light, the percentage could increase.

Receptionists at some hotels in Mazatlan stated that during Carnival occupancy was 82% and this weekend it reached levels of 70%, a percentage that could be maintained for the next three weekends.

“We have had a good occupation, we cannot complain and we hope that it will continue like this in the following weekends, including the bridge on March 21, ” he said.

They commented for the holiday period of Holy Week and Easter, Mazatlán will be full, since it is traditionally a date where a lot of tourism is received.

” Right now we already have reservations for Easter almost over 40%, but we expect a full capacity to the capacity allowed during the pandemic,” they said.

For his part, the president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce in Sinaloa, Miguel Hernández Fonseca, pointed out that in the case of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on weekends they reach 60% capacity.

He assured that the 387 establishments were filled over the weekend with locals and tourists, mainly from the states of the Northern Economic Corridor.
