The campaign will end until March 30, however, the Sanitary Jurisdiction 05 has already reported having exceeded the application goal in the priority ages.

MAZATLAN.- If you still haven’t been vaccinated against influenza, the Ministry of Health will maintain the campaign until March 30, open to the entire population that wants it, informed the head of the Sanitary Jurisdiction 05, Africa Carrasco.

He mentioned that the jurisdiction has an advance of approximately 98 percent coverage and in regards to Mazatlán, Concordia, and San Ignacio, it has already been fulfilled, while, in Elota, an advance of 98 percent has been achieved.

“In what is the jurisdiction we are already at 98 percent, what is Mazatlan, we have already passed the goal, we are at 100.2 percent, what is Concordia and San Ignacio, it was also reached, Elota is at 98 percent cent, there has been a lot of participation for influenza vaccination,” he declared.

Africa Carrasco pointed out that the participation of the population has been quite a lot, attributing it to health care and the reinforcement of defenses against Covid-19, since in Mazatlan alone, the goal of vaccines was around 41 thousand 667, the same that has already been met and even exceeded.

For her part, the director of the Urban Health Center, María Maite Rodríguez Lizárraga, explained that the fact that the goal has been reached is because vaccination against influenza is aimed at the population over 60 years of age and those under 5. years, however, the entire population can wear it.

“The vaccine is aimed at people over 60 years of age and under 5 years of age and people at risk. It is open to everyone, but these figures are the goals of the most vulnerable population segments in influenza, that is why we say that the goal was met”, he said.

The Urban Health Center is located on Calle Miguel Hidalgo s/n, between Calle Benito Juárez and Guillermo Nelson, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
