The Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Mazatlan calls on everyone to respect and comply with health protocols.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Reservations for the 2022 Mazatlan Carnival at beach hotels are sold out at the levels allowed by the Covid -19 pandemic, assured José Gámez Valle.

The marketing director of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Mazatlan stated that when entering the yellow color at the epidemiological traffic light, the permitted occupations are 75%.

Gámez Valle commented that in the traditional hotels of Mazatlan, such as the Hacienda, De Cima, reservations for the Carnival are made long in advance, mainly from people who come year after year to this party.

For his part, the Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlan, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, added that the first reports from the hotel and restaurant sector are that 80% occupancy is expected during the holidays, with a restoration of reservations from the moment the decision of the state government to proceed with the carnival

“Right now we are struggling to get rooms, it is expected that we will have a Mazatlan at 80% of the capacity that is authorized in the hotels because we expect a full Mazatlan, the protocols must be increased and the tourist must be taken care of, and, above all, we also have to take care of ourselves as a local”, he expressed.

Velarde Cárdenas called on the sectors to enforce the health protocols to prevent the numbers of infections from growing exponentially in the municipality, but also, the citizens themselves must collaborate in respecting the guidelines.
