Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- With the Evening of the Arts, an unparalleled show that showed the best of music, ballet and singing, the International Carnival of Mazatlán, fulfilled this Saturday night with this event as the unique distinction that is different to other events of its kind in Mexico and the World.

The Ángela Peralta Theater was the scene of the cultural event that marks the hallmark of the carnival festival, where, under the direction of maestro Guillermo Carrillo, the Classical Ballet Company of the Institute of Culture together with the Orchestra of the Ángela Peralta Theater conducted by maestro Gordon Campbell.

In this edition, it added the participation of guest singers Armando Piña and Alonso Siqueiros who offered a great program full of romanticism, passion, quality and majesty.

As every year, the Evening of the Arts recognizes and celebrates the Mazatlán Prize for Literature, which in this edition was awarded to the writer Cristina Rivera Garza for the book “El invincible Verano de Liliana”, a literary work that honors the life and memory of her sister Liliana who was murdered by her ex-partner more than 30 years ago and for whom justice has not been done.

In his message issued to the attendees, Rivera Garza thanked for such distinction, congratulating the Mazatlan people for being the promoter of this type of award that promotes literature, culture, and the arts.
