Línea Directa carried out a tour of this highway last week, prior to the increase, and even since then, users have complained about the high cost of using the road, since it is in very poor condition.

Sin.- Without saying “water goes” or any kind of prior notice, the booths of the Culiacán-Mazatlán maxipista rose in price starting this week. Línea Directa confirmed that last Saturday, February 12, the Costa Rica booth cost 157 pesos and the Marble booth was 135 pesos for light vehicles.

However, this Tuesday, February 15, they had already become more expensive, 168 in Costa Rica and 146 for Marble, that is, an increase of 11 pesos in each. This means that a round trip along the maxipista in a car will now cost 628 pesos , an increase of 44 pesos, compared to the 584 that it was worth until the previous week.

As a reference, at the booth in Costa Rica, motorcycles will pay 84 pesos, 268 for buses, 280 for trucks with 2 to 4 axles, 399 for those with more than 7 axles and 140 for heavy surplus axles. This medium made a tour of this highway last week, prior to the increase, and even since then, users have complained about the high cost of using the road, since it is in very poor condition.

“The road is in disarray, many potholes, many wells (…) first they fix it and then they go up.”

It should be noted that separately, Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) had reported that highways in Mexico were going to increase their cost by 7.36%, but this Wednesday it was reported that the rate adjustment was suspended until further notice, at the request of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation.

However, the increase was made effective in the maxi-highway, because it does not depend on Capufe, but rather is licensed to a private company, called the Promoter of Development and Employment in Latin America (IDEAL).
