Mazatlan Food Bank needs your help, participate in ‘Help from the heart’

This collection was born from the need to give greater capacity to the growing number of people with food deficiencies due to the fact that the pandemic left many families in a vulnerable situation.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – Due to the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic increased the number of families in a critical food situation, the Mazatlán Food Bank calls on citizens and companies, in general, to add their donation in ‘Help from the heart’.

From February 8 to February 28, the Food Bank will be receiving a collection focused on grocery items such as rice, beans, pasta, vegetable oil, among others.

“In ‘Help from the heart’ we are inviting citizens and the general public or companies to join; we request what is groceries that fall within the basic basket, we are talking about rice, lentils, oatmeal, beans, milk in tetrapack, vegetable oil, etc., “said Juan Camacho, in charge of Strategic Alliances, together with Dora Zataráin, Assistant of Direction.

They explained that this collection was born from the need to give greater capacity to the growing number of people with food deficiencies due to the fact that the pandemic left many families in a vulnerable situation. Likewise, they mentioned that there are two collection centers to which citizens can go to deliver their donations.

“There are two collection centers; one of them is Capasa, Camionera del Pacífico, located on Carretera Internacional number 1205 to the north, or if you prefer, you can go to the Banco de Alimentos facilities here, on Río Pánuco street number 400 in Colonia Ferrocarrilera. If for any reason it is difficult for them to go to one of the collection centers, they can call 6691-998-251,” said Juan.

The schedules in Capasa will be from 8 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 8 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon. For its part, the Food Bank will be receiving donations from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 8 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon.
