* US company could industrialize garbage
* The dismissal of bad officials will continue

“He wasn’t dead… he was working,” said the mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, with a smile, who on the other hand said that this week he was in Palm Beach, United States because there is a Florida company that wants to take charge of the treatment and “industrialization” of garbage in the port, at no cost to the City Council and the Commune itself.

At a press conference, he also spoke that the dismissals of officials in his cabinet who do not work and those who want to prosper with the administration will continue, and this was the case of the head of Human Resources, Fernando Mascareño.

About US businessmen, he added that they are interested in investing and transforming waste into energy to sell it.

In the questions and regarding Mascareño, Mayor Benítez said that he did not agree with the principles of the Fourth Transformation; “Many complaints came to me that they wanted personal benefits and not for the city, there could probably be influence peddling. We told him your cycle is over; here we want committed officials”, he sentenced.

He added that those “who go crazy for being city officials, leave.”

At the end of the press conference in the presidential office, he was asked for his opinion on the false news of his death on Wednesday morning and he smiled again to say: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…”
