Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Safety and health responsibility have been a key element so that the commercial sector has benefited from the holiday 3 day weekend this Monday, reported the President of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism in the southern Sinaloa, Roberto Lem González.

With a hotel occupancy of 70 percent, the tourism and commercial sector was able to attract a considerable number of visitors, however, this has been thanks to “well-applied” protocols.

“Any vacation holiday will always be beneficial in terms of attracting visitors and here in Mazatlan is no exception, we know that we continue with very good protocols applied in all establishments, in all hotels, in all restaurants, in all the markets; all the tourism that comes to Mazatlan realizes it, feels safe and decides to keep coming to Mazatlan”, he pointed out.

In addition, he explained that most of the visitors were from the states of Durango, Chihuahua, and Coahuila, which means that Mazatlan benefits from the Northern Economic Corridor, however, they also detected the presence of tourists from the center of the country, such as Jalisco and Mexico City.

“We are observing that there is a lot of tourism in the Northern Corridor; from Durango, from Chihuahua and one or another from Coahuila, including from the south, we have detected people from the State of Jalisco and why not say it, even from Mexico City inclusive”, mentioned the businessman.

Likewise, they hope that if the Mazatlan International Carnival is held, the commercial and tourism sector will be able to increase its sales, unlike last year’s scenario, where the economy suffered a severe blow.
