The arrival of this type of vessel to the port represents a respite for the economy since it is estimated that when traveling through the city and nearby communities, each cruise passenger spends an average of 75 dollars.

The tourist tour operator GianCarlo Parolari González stated that the fourth wave due to Covid-19 and due to policies of the United States government, cruise ships continue to reach 50% of their capacity and that between 60 and 70% of that percentage go down to explore the destination. of the passengers.

“Until now, the average expense that a shipping tourist leaves in the port has been maintained, which is 75 dollars per person, about 1,500 Mexican pesos, and the ships continue to operate at 50% of their capacity,” he said.

For its part, the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa reported that according to the entry and exit record of vessels, at the maritime terminal of the Administration of the National Port System, during the month of January 15 arrivals were registered, reaching port 23 thousand 415 cruise passengers and 18 thousand 083 crew members and during February 12 ships will arrive.

By 2022, Mazatlan remains firm on the cruise route as it passes through the Mexican Riviera, which includes Cabo San Lucas-Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, as 134 arrival intentions are scheduled, which represents a growth of 168% for the Mazatlan shipping industry.

It is worth mentioning that 2021 closed with the arrival in Mazatlan of 50 cruise ships, with 100,274 cruise passengers.
