Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, a; January 29, 2022.- The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) has no problem in authorizing the construction of the Mazatlán – Durango railway section and the port in Mazatlán, medium and long-term works with an investment of 4 billion dollars, informed the Governor of Durango, José Rosas Aispuro.

Rosas Aispuro reported that the SICT has just notified the company that has requested the concession to build both works, that it has no problem authorizing them to be carried out.

He announced that to advance on this issue he will hold a meeting with Governor Rubén Rocha, with businessmen, with the SICT, the government of Mazatlán, and the municipalities of Durango.

The investment will be through the figure of Public-Private Association ( PPP) where there is already an interested party, the Caxxor group.

Jorge Nuño Lara explained that these works could be built under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality, which was already ratified by the SICT this week.



According to the SICT and the project presented by the Caxxor group, there are six projects that will make up the USMCA corridor.


These six projects include the construction in stages of what is known as the port of Gran Calado or floating port in Mazatlán, Sinaloa; the 180-kilometer railway line from Durango to Mazatlán; as well as four industrial parks or dry ports, two of which will be built in Durango and the other two in the state of Coahuila.

Finally, he reiterated the importance of coordination and collaboration between the governments of Sinaloa and Durango, not only to advance in works that will generate greater economic benefit, but also to address security issues, and if a crime is committed, take preventive measures and have greater capacity. of investigation to persecute and find the delinquents.
