Mayor will seek help from Quirino Ordaz Coppel, who was recently appointed as Mexico’s ambassador to Spain, to negotiate a flight with Madrid.

MAZATLAN. – A direct connection between Mazatlán and Madrid, Spain is what Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres will seek, now that the former governor of Sinaloa Quirino Ordaz Coppel was appointed as Mexico’s ambassador to that European country.

After spending three years at the head of Mazatlan looking for that connection, the mayor sees it as possible that this scenario will materialize soon.

“We are happy because now our  representative is going to be in Spain and the possibility is getting closer every day, joining efforts with the former governor, the secretary of Tourism and the municipal government to bring a direct flight with Spain,” he said.

The municipal president recognized Ordaz Coppel as one of the best governors that Sinaloa has had, due to all the improvements that the state had during his administration, especially Mazatlán.

“At the time I made it clear that I love the distinction that the president of Mexico gave him because he has been, in my personal opinion, one of the best governors of Sinaloa,” he commented.

The work plan to follow is from Los Cabos. A week ago it was announced that during 2022 its first direct flight with Madrid, Spain, would be inaugurated.

The federal Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, assured that this new flight will generate more than 8,000 additional tourists this year who are looking for a luxury offer.

The great scenario to attract investment to Mexico

On January 19, during the inauguration of Fitur 2022, the secretary spoke about the country’s new tourism products, as well as the investment opportunities that exist in Mexico in the sector, for which he agreed to establish a roadmap to attract investors interested in national destinations, including Mazatlan.
