Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The global challenge today is to reactivate the tourism industry in a safe and responsible manner since the Covid-19 pandemic still persists and its negative effects on the sector must be combated. , considered Rosario Torres Noriega.

On the first day of the International Tourism Fair, held in Spain, the Secretary of Tourism stated that given this scenario, Sinaloa has to diversify new market niches and make European tourists fall in love, as reported in a press release.

“ The Fitur is a very valuable opportunity to be able to attract European tourists, who know our tradition, the attractions that the state has, its Magical Towns. In Sinaloa, we have the only passenger train in Mexico and they have to live the experience. We have conquered tourists from Canada and the United States and why not, we can catch the European tourist; Sinaloa has everything that Europeans are looking for,” he said.

He pointed out that today more than ever Sinaloa must be talked about as a safe, attractive destination that takes care of tourists and has the necessary biosecurity measures, and offers a wide range of possibilities for the European tourism market.

“ Throughout Sinaloa we can attract different types of tourists: be it beach, family, adventure, gastronomic, religious tourism, romance, sports, we have something for all tastes and we want them to live the experience, but above all, that they feel safe when visiting our state,” he stressed.

This Wednesday, the inaugural ribbon cutting of the Mexico Pavilion was held at the leading fair for receptive and issuing markets in Ibero-America by Miguel Torruco Marqués, Secretary of Tourism of the Mexican government; María Reyes Maroto Illera, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Government of Spain; Óscar Esparza Vargas, charge d’affaires of the Mexican embassy in Spain; the Undersecretary of Federal Tourism, Humberto Hernández-Haddad and Rosario Torres Noriega, Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa.

For five days, the head of the Sinaloa Sectur, together with a small official delegation, will develop an intense work agenda at the global meeting for tourism professionals through business appointments with Spanish wholesale tour operators, which will allow for a diagnosis to know the interest of the European to visit Sinaloa and its attractions.

The objective is to promote and market the Ruta del Chepe Express, the only passenger train in Mexico that starts its route from Los Mochis passing through the Magical Town of El Fuerte until reaching Barrancas del Cobre, as well as the promotion of the Magical Towns, Stately homes and the attractions of the 18 municipalities of the state of Sinaloa.
