No date was set for the acquisition because the companies that manufacture cars have very irregular production due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The municipal government of Mazatlán will acquire 10 new garbage collection trucks for this year to make the service more efficient and 10 patrols to reinforce the vehicle fleet of the Ministry of Public Security, informed the mayor, Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres.

“I have already given the instruction to acquire 10 new garbage collection trucks that are very necessary to us, we have more than 60 routes and, however, right now that most of the trucks are in optimal conditions, we have only completed 48 routes,” he said.

The Mayor explained that there are trucks that have to work day and night and don’t even turn the key to turn off the car’s engine, so the purchase of the new units is going to help a lot to improve the service.

After inaugurating the paving of some streets in the Urías neighborhood, he stated that, in the case of the acquisition of the 10 patrols, he commented that these units will come to strengthen the work carried out by the SSP to protect the safety of Mazatlan citizens. .

Although the mayor did not mention the amount of money that the Commune will spend for the acquisition of the vehicles, he said that right now they are in the process of purchasing and later passing it before the plenary session of the Cabildo for approval.

“If necessary, we are going to make a loan from Banobras, but not a loan to indebt the city, all the loans we make are to pay them during my term,” he insisted.

The mayor of Mazatlan did not set a date for the acquisition of the new vehicles, because the companies that are dedicated to making cars have very irregular production due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
