This morning, Tonatiuh Guerra Martínez, head of Social Welfare; Julio Silva Osorio, President of the Association of Businessmen of Avenida Playa Gaviotas, as well as representatives of the Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries, and of the Subdirectorate of Commerce.

“We are in a meeting to carry out this improvement program, taking into account that this year 2022 we are going to receive around 185 tourist cruises, and that is the main point where visitors come; so we have to have a first-world image, “said Guerra Martínez.

He commented that most of the visitors who arrive at the port aboard cruise ships are adults who require well-defined spaces; or high-level tourists who demand pleasant spaces; It is, he added, catering to the needs of a high-level tourist needs in Mazatlán.

For his part, Silva Osorio highlighted the opening of the merchants of the Golden Zone, located in the streets of Bugambilias, Las Garzas, Boca del Mar, Avenida Playa Gaviotas, and Calle La Laguna, to improve the environment with the renovation of their premises and their offer.

José Félix Mejía Martínez, Deputy Director of Commerce and José Pablo Moreno Osuna, Project Coordinator of the Sedectur, assured that they will invite businessmen and merchants to create a synergy to promote this project that will be of great benefit to the Mazatlan economy.

The reconstruction of Playa Gaviotas avenue and Playa Bugambilia and Privada de las Garzas streets, in the Golden Zone, had an investment of 71.3 million pesos and includes urban furniture, public lighting, planters, and replacement of drinking water and drainage pipes.

The work could be inaugurated on the 20th of this month by Governor Rubén Rocha Moya.
