Manuel de la Rivas recalled that several events in 2021 were postponed to 2022 and are now being resumed with the organizers to make them happen with the support of the State Government’s Secretary of Tourism.

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- Due to an increase in infections, Sinaloa passes the yellow traffic light of COVID-19, which puts the hotel sector in Culiacán in uncertainty because the cancellation of scheduled events is at risk, including the Expo Agro Sinaloa for February, lamented José Manuel de la Rivas Flores.

“Right now we have the Agro Expo on our doorstep, which is going to be in February, this pandemic pus imagine a very negative impact on reservations, very negative even in the same agricultural event,” he lamented.

The president of the Association of Owners of Hotels and Motels in Culiacán said that its members are distressed by the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the state, particularly in Culiacán, although it is less lethal than the delta, but scares away reservations and the organization of new local and national events.

Finally, he recalled that several congresses, workshops, conventions of the year 2021 were postponed to 2022 and are now being resumed with the organizers to finalize them with the support of the Secretary of Tourism of the state government.
