Mazatlan donates reflective vest to motorcyclist

MAZATLAN. – With the clear objective of making motorcyclists aware of the correct use of traveling on public roads and preventing accidents, vests were given to all of them, and general information was provided, as part of the “Ponte Vivo” campaign that started on the Avenida Insurgentes and the Mexican Army, an event led by the director of Roads and Transportation in Mazatlán, Mario Rafael González Sánchez, as well as staff from the Executive Secretariat of the State Public Security System of the state.  

González Sánchez expressed that the donation of reflective vests is for the purpose of avoiding accidents in the city, in addition to the talks to raise awareness.

«The motorcyclists must go like the vehicles one after another, they must bring the vests and helmets; to improve these operations, they will remain firm in the city, “he said.  

The official stressed that distributing vests to the population is of the utmost importance, since this device is of great help for the motorcyclist to become visible when circulating on public roads.  

Roberto Jaime Rodríguez, Road Safety Coordinator, and staff from the Executive Secretariat of the State Public Security System were also present at the operation, who were chatting with the drivers.  

Successful operation  

The driver Gerardo Ortega pointed out that these campaigns and operations are very important for the entire population, since, he said, a better road culture is needed.

“These events are important to everyone, it helps raise awareness among all of us when it comes to driving,” he said.  

Finally, he added that training is also needed for public transport drivers and people, since many do not even respect the signs, much less the motorcyclist.
