The federal official reported that the main places of origin of the airline users are nationals, especially Tijuana, Mexico City, and Monterrey.
“The numbers in terms of domestic passengers are the ones that have had the highest growth with 60 percent above and in terms of international passengers we bring a fall of 50 percent, even so the main destinations to the United States are Dallas, Phoenix and Houston” , he stated.
Regarding international flights, Ramírez del Ángel acknowledged that on December 18 a new route began to operate to San Francisco and Canada, there are only 5 direct destinations out of 14 that were post-pandemic.
“Despite that, the airport will close with good numbers only with a drop of minus 5 percent compared to 2019, which, to be that drop, is minimal,” he stressed.
