Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The high season of social events in the port has benefited the union of musicians and bands, so much so that there are groups that are playing almost daily at an event, said Marco Antonio Gordoa Obeso, leader of the Musicians Union.

“Fortunately right now the social events are good, there are many musicians who have events almost daily; they are important dates for us and so far there have been no cancellations,” he said.

He added that the demand for work is between 75 and 80 percent, better than 2020 on the same date, but without reaching the figures of other years when there was no pandemic.

He mentioned that there are currently 250 musicians affiliated with the union and emphasized that it is one of the unions that has not been able to recover 100 due to the effects of the pandemic, in addition to not receiving any type of government support.

“The beach is a place that always has people, especially on weekends, there is work, apart from the seafood restaurants that allow colleagues to work and it is compensated when there is no high season,” he added.
