The director of Social Welfare announced that they visit polygons where they project investment of resources from the Urban Improvement Program.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Officials from the three levels of government toured different areas of Mazatlan to assess the public spaces and areas to be addressed with resources from the Urban Improvement Program.

As reported in a press release, the director of Social Welfare, Tonatiuh Guerra Martínez, said that so far five industrial estates are contemplated, where they have collected documentation to assess basic needs and, based on that, that the Ministry of Agrarian Development, Territorial and Urban start with the blueprints.

Established by the program and the instructions of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and Mayor Guillermo Benitez Torres, they are evaluating and considering that the main polygons are in the marginalized areas of Mazatlán.”

He estimated that 25 thousand families established in vulnerable areas could benefit from the PMU, with works to expand public services and basic infrastructure, once the Federation allocates the resources.

Guerra Martínez specified that it will be between July and August of next year, when the Federal Government will deliver the resources for Mazatlán.

Officials from the Sedatu, the State Social Welfare Secretariat and the Municipal Government participated in the supervision.
