Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- For next year there are good expectations for Mazatlán in terms of tourist cruises, since it is expected to break the record of arrivals with the arrival of 160 vessels to the port, reported Juan José Ruiz González.

The Director of Investment Projects of the Sinaloa Tourism Secretariat commented that this week alone, five cruise ships are scheduled to arrive.

“We closed the year with everything; regarding cruise ship visits in Mazatlán, this is very good news for the destination and we hope that next year shipping tourism will continue to consolidate ”, he said.

He stated that if 160 arrivals are achieved by 2022, it will be in a position to break the record of visits in one year, we hope that the pandemic will allow it.

” For this reason, it is important that we continue with the security protocols and taking care of ourselves so that the shipping lines continue to choose Mazatlán as an important destination as they pass through the Mexican Riviera,” he said.

Juan José Ruiz highlighted that this Tuesday the “Ruby Princess” arrived, one of the most emblematic ships of the Princess Cruises chain and the residential yacht “The World”, with 116 passengers and more than 200 crew members.

“‘ The World’ brings guests with great purchasing power, it is a luxury cruise that goes around the world, we were lucky that it arrived at the port and will spend the night this Tuesday and Wednesday in Mazatlan, ” added the state official.

The state official indicated that when spending the night in the city, it is understood that cruise passengers go out to dinner and have fun and that generates an economic spill for the benefit of Mazatlán.
