“El Chapo” nephew shooting at Culiacan bar caught on video

Aureliano Guzmán Araujo, “El Chapo” Guzmán’s nephew, fired a firearm in a bar in Culiacán; Police officers at the scene let him go, arguing that they were outnumbered.

A video circulates on social networks that shows the moment when they shot inside the Casanova bar, last Friday in the Tres Ríos Urban Development, in this city of Culiacán.

The attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. at the bar located on Diego Valadez Boulevard, in front of the Lucerna hotel.

The police corporations disclosed that there was allegedly an argument and one of the participants drew a weapon and fired, injuring a man.

The images confirm that there were at least three armed men at the scene.

The video shows a man in a brown shirt apparently struggling next to the bar and starting to shoot towards the ceiling and then aiming at a person. Behind him, another person shoots a young man dressed in black, who falls unconscious to the floor.

In the image, there is another man in a black shirt and one in a black sweatshirt who carries weapons and begins to aim while the attendees crouch and run sideways.

After the attack in the bar, agents of the State Preventive and Municipal Police intercepted an armed group twice and let them go.

The Secretary of Public Security of the State, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, said that they presume they were the ones who fired at the bar.

At the intersection of Enrique Sánchez Alonso and Diego Valadez, an agent of the Centellas motorized group of the PEP, they intercepted a vehicle, pirouetting and as they tried to approach, other vehicles blocked their way and armed men got out, faced them, and then withdrew.

Two of the members of the armed group, who are traveling in a blue compact vehicle, coincide in clothing with two of the armed men who appear in the video of the shooting at the Casanova bar.

The policemen activated the panic button and started a chase, but the vehicles dispersed.

Castañeda Camarillo justified that the agents did not detain the armed men when they intercepted them because they were outnumbered, since there were only four agents on motorcycles.

Minutes later, in front of the Casanova bar, elements of the Municipal Police intercepted one of the vehicles that minutes before the state agents had intercepted.

One of the policemen talks to the driver, while others approach the vehicle pointing their weapons, and then the vehicle starts and drives off.
