Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Through a tour of the El Habal-La Noria Tourist Circuit, the mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, stressed that he will continue to promote rural tourism for the economic benefit of local merchants, as well as the attractions where visitors can enjoy all over Mazatlán.

The mayor was accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism and Fisheries Development, Ricardo Velarde, as well as by different media in search of the tourist impact in these areas.

The tour was scheduled with a visit to the well-known restaurant La Vaca Lupe, also to the Tianguis Turístico “La Noria mi Pueblo Querido”, as well as a tour of Vinata Los Osuna and Hacienda San José to finish at the local “Casa Rústica”.

The president of the Artisan Gastronomic Tianguis committee, Marisol Lizárraga, stressed that of the 1,100 inhabitants of La Noria, 80% depend on tourist-commercial activity.

He even commented that sales have increased by 80% and in addition to local and national visitors, a lot of shipping tourism arrives.

“Demand for products has risen, especially saddlery, which increased sales by up to 300%,” he said.

In addition, there are currently around eight restaurants in the tourist circuit, which strengthens the activity.

Meanwhile, the secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, pointed out that with the recently obtained designation of origin of mezcal there is a great area of ​​opportunity for this circuit.

“La Noria has had a very important resurgence, the Veranos-El Recodo circuit is coming, which has a lot of potential and we want to continue with El Quelite-El Quemado and we have the challenge of Pudra-Barrón Island, which will continue to promote in this triennium ”, He expressed.
