Mazatlan mayor guarantees clean water in 30 days, Jumapam says not until February?

The problem of “chocolatey” water is caused by the sediments dragged to the Picachos dam, after the passage of the last hurricanes.

MAZATLÁN.- The Municipal President of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, through a press release announced that Jumapam is working to solve the problem of the turbidity of drinking water in the city.

The mayor indicated in his statement that the workers of the Board work day and night to resolve this situation and assured that in the next 10 days it will be reflected in some sectors of the port and in 30 days everything will be solved.

He informed that every day they keep monitoring the clarity of the water to have a real follow-up of each one of the advances and thus offer a better service to the entire population.

Hours before this statement, in a media tour of the Picachos Dam, the operations manager of the Municipal Board of Potable Water and Sewerage of Mazatlán, Arturo Valverde Hidalgo, commented that said problem will take until February.
