The vaccines did not arrive on time, but better late than never

The State Vaccination Command reported that the municipalities of Mazatlán and Guasave will resume the vaccination program for adults over 60 years of age on Sunday, December 12, and Monday, December 13 in the municipality of Badiraguato, this due to a delay in the arrival of vaccines to our state, informed the Secretary of Health, Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda.

He also explained that it will be on Saturday, December 11, when an important shipment of 300 thousand doses of the pharmaceutical AstraZeneca arrives to reactivate vaccination in both municipalities, and with this, he affirmed that full coverage is guaranteed for this sector of the population.

Thus, in what corresponds to the municipalities of Mochis, el Fuerte, Choix, Navolato, Culiacán, Elota, Cosalá and San Ignacio, vaccination will continue tomorrow.

He added that, on the third day after starting the vaccination program for older adults, it has been a success, since at the moment 34,920 people over 60 and over have been vaccinated, which represents 9% of the population.

Likewise, he reported that the vaccination program for young people between 15 and 17 years of age continues in a normal way, which has also been successful since there is currently an important advance in the vaccination of young people, reaching 75% of its coverage.
