It is estimated that in two days the clarity levels of the vital liquid that reaches Mazatlán will improve.

MAZATLÁN.- Without sparing financial resources, starting this weekend the Municipal Board of Drinking Water and Sewerage of Mazatlán, Jumapam, will begin to apply a pre-treatment method to the water that is conducted through the irrigation canals, in order to contribute to lower the turbidity of the liquid that arrives at the Los Horcones Water Treatment Plant, reported Engineer Arturo Valverde Hidalgo, Jumapam Operations Manager.

He stressed that the instruction of Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres is that Jumapam raises the level for the purification of water for Mazatlecos and this method is to improve the quality of the water since currently produced is of normal quality and is suitable for human consumption, but the appearance is questioned by the population.

After reviewing several alternatives that can provide a solution to the problem of cloudy water, the General Manager of Jumapam, Osbaldo López Angulo, collated information with the National Water Commission and obtained its endorsement to implement a chemical pretreatment method that will allow in two days to improve the clarity levels of the already purified liquid that is reaching the city.

“We are going to begin to pretreat the water that reaches us at the Los Horcones Plant intake work and with this achieve lower the color and turbidity of the water that comes from the Siqueiros Derivation, from the Picachos Dam,” he commented. Valverde Hidalgo.
