MAZATLÁN.- December is coming and with it its vacations and the most family holidays, Christmas, and New Years, it is expected that in this period Mazatlán will be at the top in hotel occupancy.
We know that there is tourism every weekend, but there are seasons where this can be increased over the weeks, not in a few days, and for José Ramón Manguar Sánchez, president of the “Tres Islas” Hotel Association, expectations are better than those you already have.
“The end of the year is coming with an expectation of at least 70 percent in occupancy. Until now, we already have 50 percent of these reservations, it looks very good, “he declared.
The experts agree, tour operators, carriers, restaurateurs, and even the manager of the Mazatlán International Airport, in estimating that by the end of the year it will be possible to reach one million passengers between nationals and tourists, returning a little to the boom that was had before the pandemic.
At this point, there are no longer specific cities that visit Mazatlán, now there are from everywhere, Chihuahua, Durango, Sonora, Baja California, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas and Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Guanajuato, and the south is not far behind, there are people from the State of Mexico and Mexico City, Puebla and even Oaxaca.
And it is that the beaches and the attractions that “La Perla del Pacífico” has, are unmatched, in addition to a fresh cuisine that you can not appreciate in other destinations.
They predict good sales
With the arrival of tourists in December, both nationals and foreigners, it is the José María Pino Suárez municipal market, which also maintains high expectations in terms of sales.
Alejandro Ontiveros, secretary of the market’s board of directors, stated that he is eager for the increase in tourists, especially for the sale of handicrafts and sweets, becoming the “legal” place for tourists who seek tradition and color as part of the Historical Center.
