Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- In an unusual event for the second consecutive time, the first lady of the municipality, Gabriela Peña Chico, was sworn in the afternoon in City Hall as president of the municipal DIF System, to continue leading the institution for the next 3 years.

The act of commitment to the most vulnerable population was chaired by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, the Secretary of the City Council, Edgar González Zatarain and officials of the altruistic body.

The wife of Mayor Benítez Torres commented that this body will continue to be inclusive, especially with people with different abilities.

“It is a great pride for me to receive this honorary appointment that accredits me as president of Sistema DIF Mazatlán 2021-2024, being part of this blessed Institution has been an evolution in the last three years, but also a revolution in my life,” he acknowledged.

Peña Chico expressed that his commitment has always been very clear, which is to improve the quality of life of all the families and inhabitants of Mazatlán, especially those who, due to their physical or social condition, face a situation of vulnerability.

“Thank you Mazatlán for your trust and your love, it is an honor to be able to smile at you, it is a new challenge for the entire DIF family and a joint effort because only in this way can great dreams come true,” she concluded.
