MAZATLÁN.- The date arrived, Grupo Compete met to carry out the Trenzatapatón, adding the participation of the Mazatlan people with the donation of caps and PET that will serve to support the Sinaloa Oncological Hospital.
Since the inauguration, companies and families have attended the delivery of bags full of caps that they have become accustomed to collecting and waiting to deliver precisely at events like this one, which is now in its fifth consecutive year.
Cindy Rodríguez, president of Grupo Compete, mentioned that one of the fundamental tasks is to raise awareness in the community about recycling, but at the same time show solidarity to support a fundamental cause, children with cancer.
“There chemotherapies are free but there what we support is in resources where the government no longer supports, such as face masks, antibacterial gel, coolers to send samples to detect cancer, there is a lot of material with which hospitals are not supported and we do it through these little caps ”, he declared.
What good is it?
Cindy Rodríguez expressed that with this they help parents not be asked for anything, neither money nor supplies, that they have the confidence to go to the hospital so that their children are cared for without a problem.
At least in the course of an hour, at least five families and two companies arrived with sacks and bags full of caps, as well as a donation of already assembled braids and the occasional who decided to cut their hair right there, with the participation of stylists.
As a goal, the idea is a collection of 500 donated braids and at least 300 kilos of PET and caps, which year after year have been increased by the participation of people.
“All year round, the companies that make up the Compete group collect pets, caps, hair, but one day a year we hold the event to add citizens,” he remarked.
Grupo Compete is made up of 14 companies that are certified as Socially Responsible Companies, Industrias Marino SA de CV, UPC, The Inn Hotel Group, Polytechnic University of Sinaloa, Maz Industrial, Pesca Azteca, Álamo, Consultores y Asociados, PMM Messaging, Pinsa Congeladora, Sugar Foods, OMA, Gasmaz, and Colegio SAM.
